Emily Chalmers is one of those maddeningly inspirational and successful people that has lovers of vintage swooning the world over. She’s the author of a bunch of great books on vintage and retro home styling, and a well-known stylist to quintessential blighty brands like Marks & Spencers, BBC Good Homes, John Lewis and more. In short, she’s a very busy vintage ultra-goddess with a soft spot for fun functionality and ceramic birds – and her London showroom, Caravan Style, is nothing short of a pocket of miracles.
Besides all the vintage kudos, she’s also remarkably good at finding new products that have that desired nostalgic feeling. Pineapple sconces, planters and vintage cushion covers are lined up against beautiful, delicate handmade jewellery and gold coated cups. Now located a good gazillion miles from my previous home in London’s East End, I thought days of dreamily browsing Caravan Style were over. Thankfully for me, there is the internet. What a marvelous thing. Here are my faves from the shops online offering.
