About

A brief history of the madam behind Peggy’s:

1988 – Est. Manly, Australia.

1989 – Photos of me in Nanna’s slippers and pearls hit the family airwaves.

1994 – Told repeatedly not to run around the front garden with a picture frame on my head (Princess crown, obvs).

1997 – Crash my bike into a parked car whilst trying to check out a garage sale. Mortified.

1999 – Hold garage sale at home. Manage to flog Nonna’s Bonboniere to another Italian. Result!

2000 – Marilyn Monroe obsession starts. Lasts a good five years.

2007 – Move to London, clothing myself out of charity shop bin ends. Now, Mum is the mortified one.

2012 – Move home to Sydney. Sell all my vintage furniture. Much, much sobbing.

2013 – Decide to share my vintage love via Etsy. Take a leap of faith and give up on the corporate dream for life full of thrift, dust and adventure! Eeeek. Lots of deep breaths and Excel spreadsheets are had.

This little blog is my journal through the scariest and exciting endeavor I’ve ever embarked on. It’s taken me to salvage yards in the middle of country, to small rural op shops and inner city garage sales picking up the most weird and wonderful treasures along the way. I hope you enjoy coming along with me on all my travels, and my quest to live a life filled with simple pleasures.

Love,

D x
